Occult A/V is a solo electronic project of David Kumler. In the summer of 2020, Kumler purchased an analog synthesizer and a distortion pedal and began making weird noises. Things evolved from there. Inspired by artists ranging from Vatican Shadow and Pye Corner Audio to J Dilla and Madlib, Occult A/V represents Kumler's the first(ish) foray into strictly electronic music. Over the course of summer 2021, Occult A/V debuted with a trilogy of EPs, collectively titled Nightworks. In 2022, Occult A/V released a fourth Nightworks EP, titled Ghost Pulse and, in 2023, a fifth and final installment, Under the Pavement. Occult A/V's live performances blend hardware electronics and live dub mixes with audio-reactive visualizations for a fully immersive experience.
